Backstage at The Masquerade before Bands arrived I would go out into the Wooden Decks that was outdoors. I coyuld just picture the Creators of The Vampire Masquerade surrounded by Vampires. Real Life "Scary" People that Inspired the Writers. The Game was more Live Action than anything. It was about the Costumes & Make Up the Players did. The Vampire Masquerade Role Playing Game was a theatrical Show. Live Action soon followed tabletop & it was Dangerous Dream with Style. I have played it online but just not the same. Get the Book from The Vampire Masquerade & read it create a Vampire World...
Backstage~ My Experience
At the Bar & Tables Overlooking the Club
In The Masquerade there is 3 Levels~ Heaven, Hell & Purgatory. I saw the Bands from the Top Level or Heaven. My Friends & I dressed Vampire-like & the some of the guys even wore tuxedos. Sitting Together above the Stage was Amazing. We were a group of Real Life Vampires in essence.
Backstage is here I met Well-Known Artists in the Beginning. I met Bands that played LIVE with an audience & what an other-worldy time in my Life...

Seeing Evanescence in The Masquerade was very Different, I'll tell you a Secret.
People Watched Evanescence Play & Heard Amy Lee sing. Their aura followed them Backstage. Where I was sitting alone at the Bar & a Table when Evanescence came in together & surrounded me & didn't say a word, but it was like I joined the band. Amy Lee came towards me I remember but she disappeared in a blink & it was all like a Real Life Dream. And that is meeting Evanescence~ a huge band, with lot's of people & then they were gone.
Industrial Band
Going into the audience Front Row & slam dancing in The Pit is my memory of seeing KMFDM Live. I missed KMDM at The Masquerade but saw them Live in Kalamazoo. The Men were Great Men that stood over the People like Sargents & Sang. Eventually Front Women came about too. But in The Pit in Kalamazoo I got Kicked in the Head from a Guy being lifted up by the Crowd, Unforgettable.
