The Sex Pistols & Beatnik Poets I knew..
Odd Combination?, it came together at the same time....
Johnny Rotten/
John Lydon Real Name
Lead Singer of The Sex Pistols & Public Image Limited
Knowing Johnny Rotten just happened. I don't remember meeting him, w e were just friends. I was into punk at that time, being an old school punk rocker but we would hang out for days & days showing images of the old days, when Sex Pistols were together & I saw my underground live punk shows such as Fugazi I went to. It was Wild!!
He had moved to The United States & after getting to know each other he finally came thru Atlanta & was showing his life story with The Sex Pistols in a Documentary, this was a long time ago & couldn't get a ride it happening so sudden. It was at home during Halloween & Blarred The Sex Pistols music. It sucked but he was older & it wouldn't be
At the same as going The Sex Pistols. I lived.
Atlanta was the first stop in The United States for the US Sex Pistols tour in the 1970s. I met an old school punk & his father had gone to The Sex Pistol's Show & his son gave me a Sex Pistols Patch I safety pinned to my jacket with Sex Pistols Buttons. & that's my story....
Thurston Moore
Lead Singer of Sonic Youth/ Writer
I've seen Sonic Youth 3 times. In Atlanta, GA, New Orleans, Louisiana & Jacksonville,FL.
I came across Thurston Moore on the Internet. He was also in the Documentary about The Sex Pistols & Sonic Youth as well. We spent a lot of time together. He & Kim Gordon were seperated & Thurston & I went out online. He had an office where he was a Professor of Music. We were to meet up at the Documentary but it never happened.
Sonic Youth eventually broke up & Thurston was then accepted by the Beate Publisher. And we went our different ways.
